‘Milwaukee’s Home for Comedy’ moves downtown Milwaukee to a larger space.
Milwaukee, WI – The Laughing Tap, Milwaukee’s premier stand up comedy club, announces its grand re-opening weekend Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28, 2026 with headliner Nate Craig (Netflix, Comedy Central, Prime, HBO) at a new and larger downtown Milwaukee location, 761 N Jefferson St in the Historic George Watts building.
International touring comedian and Wisconsin native Nate Craig will headline the new 100+ capacity venue for one show Friday March 27th at 7:30pm and two shows Saturday, March 28 (7:30pm & 10pm). Nate Craig is a regular at the LA Comedy Store and NY Comedy Cellar. TV and movie credits include the hit Netflix movie “Old Dads”, played Jonah Hill’s brother “Phil” in the Netflix series “Maniac,” a cast member on TruTV’s “World’s Dumbest”, and a role in the animated Netflix series “F is for Family”. He’s been on “You Made it Weird” with Pete Holmes, written for “A Prairie Home Companion” with Garrison Keillor, & featured on the “Best of the Bob & Tom Radio Show”.
The new Laughing Tap venue, located in the bustling East Town neighborhood in Downtown, Milwaukee, will present professional live comedy shows every week including special events, live album recordings, a weekly amateur open mic night, and expanded bar hours. A new bar added to accommodate patrons embraces the 100 year history of the George Watts building, utilizing existing woodwork for the bar area and box office.
The Grand Re-Opening weekend at The Laughing Tap will feature top-notch talent and officially mark the comedy club re-establishing its place as the premier live comedy destination in Milwaukee, nine months after closing its previous Walkers Point location in Summer of 2025 to pursue a larger and more prominent location.
Working with commercial real estate broker Dave Ferron of Cushman & Wakefield | Boerke, the Laughing Tap looked at dozens of spaces in Downtown Milwaukee, East Side, Walkers Point and surrounding area before deciding on the Jefferson St location. Venture Construction oversaw the construction project.
About Nate Craig:
An internationally touring headliner, Nate is a paid regular at the LA Comedy Store and NY Comedy Cellar among others. Most recently he appeared in the hit Netflix movie “Old Dads”. He also played Jonah Hill’s brother “Phil” in the Netflix series “Maniac” and was a cast member on TruTV’s “World’s Dumbest”. Nate’s latest comedy special, “Married to It” was filmed at the world famous MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Previous specials include “Live at The Green Mill”, executive produced by Bill Burr, and “Preferred Customer”. Both distributed by the All Things Comedy network. He plays a role in the last season of the animated Netflix series “F is for Family” and was featured on Season two of Comedy Central’s “Roast Battle”. He’s also been on AXS Gotham Comedy Live, Tosh.0, Comedy Central’s “Mash-up”, and he wrote for 3 seasons of “Ridiculousness” on MTV. Nate has been featured at The Just for Laughs Montreal, JFL Northwest, Bridgetown, and HBO Las Vegas Comedy Festivals. He’s been on “You Made it Weird” with Pete Holmes, has written for “A Prairie Home Companion” with Garrison Keillor, and was featured on the “Best of the Bob & Tom Radio Show”.
